1. Information We Collect

During the Beta Period: We collect minimal data. Job designs and settings are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and are not transmitted to our servers.

When cloud sync is introduced, we will collect:

• Account information: email address, name, and password (hashed)
• Job data: site addresses, design points, cable segments, measurements, and quotes you create
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and performance metrics
• Device information: browser type, operating system, and screen resolution

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the design tool
• To save and sync your jobs across devices
• To improve the tool based on usage patterns
• To communicate product updates and changes
• To process payments (when paid plans are introduced)
• To comply with legal obligations

3. Third-Party Services

The tool uses the following third-party services that may collect data according to their own privacy policies:

• Google Maps Platform — satellite imagery, geocoding, Street View, and address autocomplete. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy
• NSW Spatial Services — cadastral (property boundary) data. Public government data.
• Supabase (when cloud sync is introduced) — authentication and database hosting. Data stored in Australia.
• Stripe (when payments are introduced) — payment processing. We do not store credit card details.

4. Data Storage and Security

During the beta, all data is stored locally on your device. When cloud storage is introduced, data will be hosted on Australian infrastructure (Supabase / AWS Sydney region). We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, row-level security policies, and regular security audits.

5. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), you have the right to:

• Access your personal information
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. Google Maps may set its own cookies as part of its service.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. During the beta, you can delete local data by clearing your browser storage.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice in the tool. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
